Is there a series that is lighter weight? Do all have alnico pickups? Are all center blocks maple or are some mahogany? Any gems over the years? Dot Studios? There are several variations. Sadly, it had a cracked neck at the first fret. I tried a used cherry Epiphone Dot that sounded great, had nickel hardware and was light as a feather. Coming in just a touch more expensive than the ES-335 is the Epiphone Sheraton II Pro. Theyre looking at how to make an ES-335 for as quickly and as cheap as possible. Epiphone makes good quality instrument but at the end of they day speed is the name of the game with their products. I have a nice Casino WOrn but it sounds nothing like a 335. Gibson pickups are also seen as better quality and up until recently had better pots in them than the Epiphone models. I own a nice Epiphone Sheraton but it tips the scales at 8 pounds, 4 ounces. I'd rather lose a $600 guitar than a $3,000 guitar. But it's for a good cause so I play there. It's a bad neighborhood and there is no way I'm bringing my Gibson 335 to the place. You see, where I gig, there have been a lot of thefts. I'm shopping for an Epiphone 335/Dot and would like to hear about yours.
